Pronto opened in Sacramento during the summer of 2006. Pronto is owned by the same people who brought you Paesanos and Jack's Urban Eats. The Pronto slogan is "real italian, real fast." If by real they mean "authentic," I am not certain that I would agree. It certainly is consistent with the California version of Italian food, however. Ordering takes place at the counter, and you pick up your own food at the kitchen window when the provided pager goes off. This cafe style service does indeed insure the "fast" part of their slogan. For you state workers, you will definitely have time to get lunch at Pronto. The speciality would appear to be rotissere chicken, which is not my preference, but I found to be enjoyable none-the-less. I do particularly enjoy the pasta and the chopped salad. The zuchini friti is also an excellent side. Pronto is definitely not another Paesanos, as it is distinctly a different menu. Pronto also offers their menu as take-out. I would definitely recommend Pronto, especially for people who want restaurant quality food without the formality.
